Summer Camps
Brickworks is pleased to announce summer camps for kids! Targeted to ages 6-14, these camps will focus on introducing children to simple mechanics and motorized building. Utilizing Vinee motors (www.vineerobot.com) designed for use with LEGO bricks, attendees will create several models each session with each model demonstrating a different principle of mechanical movement while having fun and making friends in the process!
Currently Brickworks offers the following sessions:
| Day Camp (Single day, 3 hours) |
Attendees will be guided through 3-4 motorized builds focused on different mechanical concepts such as the lever, fulcrum, bevel gears, and a pulley system. The session will include at least a half hour free build time for attendees to build from their imagination. Suitable for ages 6-14. Cost is $50/child + 6% PA sales tax |
| Day Camp (Single day, 6 hours) |
Attendees will be guided through 6-8 motorized builds focused on different mechanical concepts such as the lever, fulcrum, bevel gears, gearbox, gear ratios, cams, and a pulley system, . The session will include time for a lunch break and 30-60 minutes free build time for attendees to build from their imagination. Suitable for ages 6-14. Cost is $90 + 6% PA sales tax |
| 3 Day camp (3 hours per day) |
Attendees will be guided through 3-4 motorized builds each day (9-12 over the camp) focused on different mechanical concepts such as the lever, fulcrum, bevel gears, gearbox, gear ratios, cams, and a pulley system, . The session will include at least a half hour free build time for attendees to build from their imagination. Suitable for ages 6-14. Cost is $175 + 6% PA sales tax |
| 5 Day camp (3 hours per day) |
Attendees will be guided through 3-4 motorized builds each day (15-20 over the camp) focused on different mechanical concepts such as the lever, fulcrum, bevel gears, gearbox, gear ratios, cams, and a pulley system, and many more. The session will include at least a half hour free build time for attendees to build from their imagination. Suitable for ages 6-14. Cost is $250 + 6% PA sales tax |
Note: All sessions must meet a minimum sign up level to run. Any sessions not meeting minimum sign up will first try to be combined with other sessions or refunded.
